Today we are part of the solution to climate change, driving the energy transition by developing sustainable and competitive solutions in partnership with customers, municipalities, and suppliers.

Together, our 580+ employees provide households and businesses with heating based on district heating and geoenergy, and industries with steam, heating, cooling and infrastructure services that improve resource efficiency.

With the ambition of being the leading partner in the energy transition, Adven and Värmevärden came together under the name Adven in 2022.

The journey started when Adven was acquired by the owners also owning Värmevärden 2020. Värmevärden as a company was created in 2010, but the operations have extensive experience of district heating, from the mid-1950’s onwards. As a strong Swedish energy company and one of the ten largest suppliers of district heating in Sweden, Värmevärden has made more and more municipalities see the benefits of being part of a larger context.

The journey of Adven goes back to the 1980’s when oil and gas are the enablers of the society and supplied for households and businesses in Finland and Estonia as part of Neste and later Fortum. Adven is born in 2012, as a business carve out from Fortum. Along the transition from heavy fuel oil to sustainable solutions, Adven has since then rapidly grown as a company both organically and through acquisitions also in new geographies.
