Adven Group’s Board of Directors

Mikael Kramer, Chairman

Member of the Board since 2020.

Mikael was the Head of Mergers, Acquisitions and New markets at Vattenfall AB for more than 15 years and has worked in venture capital and banking prior to Vattenfall. His career has covered over SEK 350bn in energy transactions throughout the whole value chain in 10 countries in the Northwest European markets.

Mark A. Walters

Member of the Board since 2020.

Mark is an investment principal within the Infrastructure Investments Group of J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s Global Alternative business, based in London. He is primarily responsible for leading the Group’s investment and asset management activity across the European utilities sector having joined the firm in 2009. Mark has previously held board positions at Electricity North West, Southern Water Services and Zephyr Investments Limited, the predecessor organisation of Ventient Energy. As a current non-exec board member of the Adven and Ventient Energy, Mark is responsible for providing ongoing strategic guidance and support to the organisations and their executives.

Prior to his current role, Mark spent time working with Macquarie Capital’s European Advisory team having started his career at Arthur Andersen, practicing as a chartered accountant. Mark holds a B.Sc (Hons) degree from the University of Manchester in England and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Javier Abad Marturet

Member of the Board since 2023.

Javier has been an private equity investor for more than 25 years, in sectors including capital goods, engineering, entertainment & wellbeing, telecoms & IT, renewable energy, ports & logistics and technology. Javier has led more than €15bn of M&A and refinancing transactions. An active board member, Javier has a strong track record of profitable growth and value creation. He has previously sat on boards of large international public and private companies in Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, Germany and UK.

Currently, he is Non Exec Director of Getec in Germany and Lecta in Spain, and is also Senior Advisor of Mubadala Capital Private Equity (part of Abu Dhabi’s $300bn sovereign wealth fund).

Peter Emery

Member of the Board since June 2024.

A non-executive with extensive experience as a CEO and executive director operating in distressed debt, PLC, privately-owned and major family-owned businesses.

Broad energy sector expertise in electricity networks, power generation and downstream oil sectors specialising in large scale operational management, strategic planning and project analysis and execution. Career spans international experience with a major global multi-national to a UK based FTSE 100/250 business with little or no corporate support. Additional commercial exposure includes participation in JV activity with major OEMs developing biomass and carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects, leading acquisition due diligence efforts and senior roles in corporate transactions.

Anne Berner

Independent Advisor for the Board since June 2024. Member of the Board during 2020-2024.

Anne is a long-term family business owner and chairman of the board. She has also served on several boards in Finland and Sweden in the fields of mechanical wood industry, communication, as well as for one of the major mutual pension funds. Anne has also co-founded and chaired the foundation for the New Children’s Hospital. Anne serves today on the board of SEB in Sweden, Avesco and CVVC (venture capital for blockchain) in Switzerland, as well as NGOs within the field of healthcare. During 2015-2019, Anne was a Member of Parliament in Finland and Minister for Transport and Communications.
