Estonian E-Piim and Adven to agree on energy supply for the new dairy in Paide, Estonia
The new E-Piim dairy will be the largest and most modern dairy in the region and capable of processing more than 1,000 tonnes of raw milk per day. Also cheese and milk powder is produced at the new facility.
E-Piim is one of the largest cheese, butter and milk powder producers and exporters in Estonia owned by local dairy farmers.
E-Piim chose Adven as their energy partner at the new dairy and soon a steam boiler plant will be rising in Paide, Estonia. The new plant ensures high security of supply and provides sustainable and reliable energy supply for E-Piim. The plan is to implement two boiler systems: the baseload will be covered by biomass, and LNG boilers will cover the peak and reserve load.
“Our goal is to achieve climate neutrality, animal welfare and increase the capacity of the Estonian dairy industry as a whole. In addition to high-tech solutions, we implement automation and digital solutions. The partnership with Adven helps us to focus on our core business,” said Randel Veerits, Manager of the future Paide plant of E-Piim.
“We are extremely happy to be able to help Epiim in their journey towards a more sustainable world,” said Kevin Vaher, Sales Director of Adven Baltic.
The construction of the E-Piim’s plant is planned to start in the summer of 2021 and the building of the new boiler plant will start at the beginning of 2022. The plant is planned to be commissioned in 2023.
