Perstorps Fjärrvärme AB is currently owned by E.ON and Perstorp Municipality at 50 percent each. Adven has agreed with E.ON to buy E.ON’s ownership stake in the company, which was yesterday approved by the city council. The takeover is expected to take place in January 2022. In connection with the acquisition, Adven has announced its interest in acquiring all, or part of, the municipality’s ownership.

“We are pleased to have had the opportunity to acquire E.ON’s ownership in Perstorps Fjärrvärme, and are now looking forward to continuing to develop and deliver sustainable district heating to the local residents”, says Anders Ericsson, CEO of Adven Group.

Perstorps Fjärrvärme is located in Perstorp municipality in northern part of Skåne. The company was founded in 1980 and is today owned by E.ON and Perstorp Municipality at 50 percent each. Adven has agreed with E.ON to buy E.ON’s ownership stake and yesterday Perstorp City Council decided to waive its right to buy this ownership share, according to the current home bid.

Perstorps Fjärrvärme AB has approximately 900 connected customers and supplies heat to villas, rental properties, schools, nursing homes and smaller industries. The business currently has one employee and conducts production, distribution and sales of district heating, which is till 99 percent based on biomass and waste heat from Perstorp AB.

Adven Group currently operates 53 district heating networks in Sweden and has good experience from cooperation with municipalities, including Staffanstorp and Älmhult in Perstorp’s vicinity. In May 2021, the Group also took over district heating production in Trelleborg, where several development projects are currently underway.

“Today, we operate many networks of this size and have found a good model to be both local and close to our customers while taking advantage of our size and spreading experiences from other networks”, says Anders Ericsson.

In connection with the acquisition of E.ON’s share, Adven has announced its interest in acquiring all or part of the municipality’s shareholding. Yesterday, Perstorp City Council decided to open such a negotiation with Adven.
