Heating engineer Roberts Jumiķis: Ensuring service continuity is important to me

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Transport Systems Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanics, and Mechanical Engineering from Riga Technical University. I came to Adven by accident, but still deliberately – in February 2023, Adven’s production manager invited me to join the team as a heating engineer. A couple of months later, I was already part of the Adven team.

I divide my daily responsibilities into two main areas. The first involves the maintenance and development of the centralized heat supply in Cēsis and Sigulda, from concept to implementation. For instance, when a potential customer requests a connection to our heating system, I assess the technical feasibility of making it happen. The second part of my role focuses on production development, where I explore new, innovative methods of thermal energy production and seek out ways to improve efficiency.

I enjoy finding innovative solutions and improving existing processes every day. This not only challenges me but also drives the momentum of various tasks. However, what I enjoy even more are the moments spent with my colleagues –shared interests, fun activities, and great times are always guaranteed.

What truly inspires me each day is helping others, whether it’s supporting colleagues at work or fulfilling customer needs. Since I also oversee the construction of heating lines, one of my main goals is to organize these processes in a way that minimizes any inconvenience for our customers.

One of my hobbies is quiz games – I’ve even participated in the Latvian television show V.I.P. – Veiksme. Intuīcija. Prāts.

I also enjoy various physical activities – I cycle, run, and participate in different competitions, including endurance running and mountain marathons.

If I were to describe Adven, I’d say we are a company that truly understands the core of every situation, makes rational decisions, and acts efficiently. We are also characterized by our openness and tolerance, always striving to listen to our customers and offer the support they need.

I believe that in carrying out my responsibilities, I constantly strive to be precise, communicate clearly, and develop a deeper understanding of others, especially during construction projects. I’m proud that I’ve been able to seamlessly integrate into the team and embrace the company’s values in my daily work.
